The journey started 6 months ago with an 8 minute “Woosah”

My journey started 6 long months and 25 faraway blog posts ago.On 11th February I tip-toed onto the internet with a redesigned company website and a new (ad)venture, my blog The HR Rabbit Hole. Subtle.On Friday 13th February, I thought to heck with superstition and began to promote the new website and blog to clients, colleagues, friends, family and the social-professional media community. Bold.Transformation can be subtle or bold. But there is something scarily irresistible about a bold transformation. Like the theme park ride with the sign at the entrance which reads;

"Empty your pockets of loose change and take something to bite down on!"

You will be scared out of your mind but you know it will be one heck of a ride. And the story you have to tell after - epic!No turning back now.

The Pressure and The Pain

I was feeling the pressure. So too were my colleagues and clients.Are you feeling the pressure to deliver results, find a fresh approach, make an impact, magic more from fewer resources, save your sanity and keep your professional mojo going? I was feeling the pain. So too were my colleagues and clients.The HR discipline was increasingly facing stinging criticism for failing to keep up with the pace of change. Criticism that still continues to rain down.HR is neither focusing on what matters to its customers (employees), nor what is relevant to business.HR is a tribe of left-behinds, hapless and adrift in a changing world; stuck in obstinate repetition of low value transactional tasks.

 The Evolution of an HR Professional: From Practitioner to Evangelist

I decided to take action.Ease the Pressure: In my first blog post I offered to let The HR Rabbit Hole do some of the leg-work for you and wade through the ocean of information.It is a cornerstone of Aquarius' purpose.  Our mission was and still is; to go cross-discipline exploring, discover uncommon connections, helpful tips and snack-sized morsels of interestingness with practical use. Then share.I promised to deliver these to you fresh every week. Through the highs of inspiration and the lows of writer’s distraction, the weekly promise has been kept.Relieve the Pain: I was horrified by the sound of HR’s death knell. If HR’s obituary were being written, it wouldn’t make for a good tale.I am determined to tell a better story of HR; one of value creation, meaningful impact and relevance. All of this can made tangible by leveraging the infinite power of human to human connection.By sharing ideas and applying new and improved HR strategies and processes, we can create an epic HR legend.Overcoming the pressure and the pain in your transformation journey makes for a richer, deeper, relatable story.
